The Girls in IT Task Force was convened to address the crisis involving the shortage of women entering IT-related career fields and the lack of female enrollment in MCPS technology programs. The reoprt and recommendations of the Girls in IT Task Force focus on ways to improve the participation of female students in IT fields through marketing and recruiting, retention and culture building, and curriculum and professional development: Girls in IT Task Force Report
The Technology Literacy by 8th Grade Consortium produced this video which emphasizes the importance of students learning about and using technology prior to entering the workforce. Take Ten, a Montgomery County Public Schools production, is a 10-minute public affairs program in the format of a one-on-one interview. Host Jennifer Johnson of NBC News has hosted members of the MCBRE Board of Advisors to discuss issues such as what students can do to prepare for success in the in the workforce, which skills are most important in their organizations, and how their organizations support the education community.
